| Day 1 | Calgary to Banff (Coach) | | | Leave the Stampede City of Calgary on the express service to Banff
where you will have ample opportunity to take in the sights. | | Day 2 | Morning sightseeing tour of Banff | | | This morning, tour through the town of Banff and its environs. Among
the highlights are visits to the Hoodoos (shaped by centuries of wind),
Surprise Corner, Sulphur Mountain (gondola ride included), and Tunnel
Mountain Drive - which overlooks the splendour of Bow Valley . Enjoy the
afternoon on your own to explore this charming resort. | | Day 3 | Banff to Lake Louise (Coach) | | | Depart Banff early afternoon for a short drive via the scenic Bow Valley
to Lake Louise. | | Day 4 | Lake Louise to Jasper (Coach) | | | Travel by coach today via one of the most scenic highways in North
America - the Icefields Parkway. Visit the Columbia Icefield that covers
an area of nearly 325 sq kms and reaches a depth of 320 metres. Time
allows for an Ice Explorer ride (included) on the Athabasca Glacier. Along
the way stops will be made at Lake Louise, Bow & Peyto Lakes, the
Crowfoot Glacier and the Athabasca Falls. This highway is renowned for
sightings of bears, elk, moose & mountain sheep, so keep your camera
handy. Please note: mountain lakes in this region will be frozen through
to mid June. | | Day 5 | Jasper - Evening wildlife tour | | | Today is free to explore Jasper before departing this evening to experience
the environs of Jasper and for some amazing close-up photo opportunities
of wildlife. Destinations can include the Maligne Valley, the Pyramid
Bench (with its beaver ponds) and many other unique wildlife or natural
splendors. During the winter months descend to the frozen canyon floor
where guides take you down beneath the frozen surface of the Maligne
River - don’t worry, the water levels have dropped with the freeze, leaving
a magical world of ice formations and shelves. | | Day 6 | Jasper to Quesnel (Rail) | | | Today, embark on a memorable rail journey across British Columbia’s Caribou
Region to the waters of the Pacific O cean. Pass the cloud-veiled peak
of Mount Robson and watch the horizons widen as the train descends
from the Rockies onto the rugged interior plateau. The northern arm of
the Fraser River leads to Quesnel. Upon arrival you will be transferred to
your overnight accommodation. (breakfast and lunch is included today). | | Day 7 | Quesnel to Whistler (Rail) | | | Re-board the Rocky Mountaineer train bound for Whistler. Today’s rail
journey takes you along the historic Caribou Goldrush Trail. Highlights
along the way include towering views of the Fraser Canyon, Anderson
& Seton Lakes. Upon arrival into Whistler you will be transferred to your
overnight accommodation. (breakfast & lunch is included today) | | Day 8 | Whistler to Vancouver (Rail) | | | This morning is at leisure to explore Whistler, before departing on the
Whistler Mountaineer train service through the scenic Howe Sound to
Vancouver. Highlights along the way include Cheakamus Canyon and the
Stawamus Chief Rock where climbers from all over the globe migrate to
climb the granite cliffs. | |

Country to Quesnel. This rail journey takes you along the historic Caribou
Goldrush Trail. Highlights along the way include towering views of the
Fraser Canyon, Anderson & Seton Lakes. Upon arrival into Quesnel you
will be transferred to your overnight accommodation.
(breakfast & Lunch is included today) | | Day 3 | Quesnel to Jasper (Rail) | | | This morning, re-board the Rocky Mountaineer Train for your continuing
journey to Jasper. Your route today follows the famous Fraser River.
Enjoy breakfast and lunch onboard (included). Keep your eyes open for
grizzly, moose, beaver and osprey! You will pass the historic settlements
of McBride and Jaune Cache on your way to the Yellowhead Pass,
then pass Mount Robson, (3,954 metres), the Rockies highest peak.
Crossing into the province of Alberta, you will arrive by late afternoon in
the peaceful alpine town of Jasper.

country’ and the breadbasket of Canada. Arrive Calgary airport at 2.30pm
or downtown Calgary at 3.00pm. | |
