Terms and Conditions Booking Conditions Please read these booking conditions carefully. By paying your deposit, we understand that you have read and accept these conditions. “The Company” is Canada & Alaska Specialist Holidays. Changes in Prices & Itinerary Prices are based on operator’s tariffs and exchange rates as of 01 September 2008. It is impossible to foreshadow accurately increases in exchange rates, airfares, fuel, airport charges, hotel rates and other service provider’s tariffs. In the event that such fluctuations offset the prices which we pay for such services, we reserve the right to adjust our prices at any time up to and including the day of departure. Deposits A deposit of $750 per person is required in our office within 7 days of receiving your confirmation to enable us to hold the reservation. Some suppliers require additional deposit amounts. You will be advised of this at time of booking. Full Payment Full payment is required no later than 90 days prior to departure. Bookings made within 90 days of trip departure will require a credit card guarantee held until final money is received. Validity of Pricing This quote/booking is based on prices valid from 01 September 2008 to 31 December 2010 or extended where applicable. These prices are subject to change without notice. The Company or other agents cannot be held responsible for any change which may occur and reserve the right to increase the price of any travel arrangements prior to full payment being received by Discover Holidays Inc. Cancellations In the event that you cancel your holidays, we must be notified in writing and the following cancellation fees will apply to your travel arrangements from the date of notification. More than 90 days prior to departure - Loss of Deposit 90-46 days prior to departure - 25% of fare* 45-31 days prior to departure - 50% of fare* 30-16 days prior to departure - up to 100% of fare* 15-0 day prior to departure - 100% of fare * plus non-refundable supplier charges Unused Services There will be no refunds available for services provided which are not utilized. Should passengers fail to arrive for their pre-booked service/product or voluntarily cancel, amend or otherwise alter their arrangements, The Company will not be responsible for refunds. This is regardless of inferred or implied assurances of behalf of any of our industry partners. Amendments Should you wish to make any changes to your booking after a confirmation has been received, a charge of not less than $35 will be made in addition to any charges levied by ground/cruise operators or other suppliers with whom arrangements have been made on your behalf. Not Included in the Tour Cost Cost of passports, visa’s where required, gratuities (except where indicated), insurance, excess baggage, laundry, drinks, airport taxes, meals (except where indicated), insurance, items of a personal nature. Travel Insurance It is a condition of travelling on our holidays that passengers are covered by adequate Travel Insurance. This should be valid for the full duration of their holiday and include, but not limited to, the following features: coverage for illness, injury, emergency assistance, loss of baggage and personal items, loss of monies due to cancellation or curtailment, and additional accommodation and repatriation costs due to illness or accident. Your travel agent will be able to recommend a suitable policy for you. Accommodation All accommodation is for run of the house accommodation standard rooms. Rooms will vary in size and may have different amenities. All room assignments are made by the hotel management and The Company has no control over which room you will receive. If the featured hotel is unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute hotel accommodation of a similar grade. Meals Meal plan includes breakfast as noted. Beverages, bar items and room service are not included and are your responsibility. Car Rental Taxes and other fees are included however are subject to change without notice. Rates include: number of rental days as outlined, Loss Damage Waiver (LDW), Personal Accident Ins. (PAI) & Personal Effects (PEC), Concession Fee Recovery (CFR), Vehicle Licensing Fee (VLF), Air Conditioning Surcharge Recovery (ACSR), Tax for Fuel Conservation (TFFC), Passenger Vehicle Rental Tax (PVRT), Luxury Tax, and Unlimited Kilometres at participating locations. Rates do not include: Petrol, second drivers fee (C$10 per day), child seats, meals, attractions, applicable drop off charges if the vehicle drop off is at a different point from pick up (certain city pairs allow free drop offs), National Park entrance fees and hotel parking fees. Minimum rental periods are 48 hours for local return and 3 days for inter-city rentals. Voluntary upgrades at time of rental will be charged at local rates and paid by clients directly to Hertz. Minimum rental age is 25 years. Renters (including Additional Authorized Operators) must present a valid Drivers License and voucher, and may possibly be asked to present a return Airline Ticket. All rates are subject to any increase in GST and/or provincial sales taxes. Responsibility Canada & Alaska Specialist Holidays (herein call the Company) Act only as agents for the hotels, airlines, bus or car companies, railroad or steamship lines or owners or contractor providing accommodation, transportation or other services, and all coupons, exchange orders, receipts, are subject to any and all tariffs, terms and conditions under which any accommodation, transportation or any other services whatsoever are provided by such hotels, airlines, bus or car companies, railroads, steamship lines, or owner or contractors. The Company shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss of or damage to any property or otherwise including baggage, whether due to its or its servants, agents or employees negligence or otherwise arising out of or in conjunction with any accommodation, transportation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, dangers, incidents of the sea, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of governments or other authorities, de jure or de facto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations of or changes in schedules or itinerary, or overbooking or defaults, or from any causes beyond the Company’s control or through the acts or defaults of the hotels, airlines, bus or car companies, railroads, steamship lines or owners or contractors providing accommodation, transportation or other services or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passport, visa or other documents and that neither the Company nor its servants, agents or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expense or liability sustained or incurred by the tour and/ or modify the itineraries in any way it thinks desirable and further reserves the right to decline to accept any person on any tour and may substitute hotels where necessary. The issuance and acceptance of receipts, tickets, vouchers, coupons or travel orders shall be deemed consent of the above conditions. The transportation companies or firms shall be exempt from all liability in respect of any detention, delay, loss, damage, sickness or injury, however or by whomsoever caused and whatever kind occurring, of or to the passenger at any time when the passenger is not on board a carrier or conveyance used and operated by the transport companies or firms. The passage contract in use by the transportation companies or firms shall constitute the sole contract between the transportation companies or firms and the purchaser of these tours and/or passengers.
